Post Incarceration Syndrome (PICS) is a mental disorder that has been brought to awareness, which occurs in individuals either currently incarcerated or recently released. A topic for discussion at every opportunity. Our Guest Kristi Smith is also going to discuss the damaging effects of incarceration on her loved one who already suffers from Psychological disorders.
The Least Costly and Transparent Solutions To Prison Reform, would be to Replace Prisons with Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities, with Experienced Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, Medical Doctors, Nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapist, and Educational and Vocational Components to be included. Solitary Confinement, Restrictive Housing Units, Abuses, Deprivations and Other inhumane treatment which is what is mostly occurring in prisons across the Country, is not, will not, and never has been, the answer. Changes are long overdue and we will discuss why and how these resolutions can be fulfilled.
