Sources at neighboring hospitals dispute claims made by MTC staff and tell the truth about the denial of routine care.

Men at the Texas Civil Commitment Center (TCCC) are four times more likely to die than to complete the program successfully. Marsha McLane said that the TCCC would not be a “warehouse for sex offenders”. Maybe she meant to say that it would be a tomb for sex offenders. The reality is that the men at the TCCC do not receive routine or preventative medical care. The only care that is received outside the facility is for emergencies.

Imagine that the only care you could receive was just when an ambulance would be called: no regular checkups, no routine bloodwork, no scans, no diagnostic tests based on bloodwork, no x-rays, no initial treatment, no follow up visits, no discussion with licensed healthcare professionals. Just wait. Wait until you are in an emergency situation and hope the ambulance ride gets you there in time. Just wait.

It was shared that residents were recently told at a Resident Council meeting by Ms. Graves who runs the medical unit that the doctors and nurses at the surrounding hospitals did not want the men at the hospital because the men were too dangerous. THAT IS A LIE.

The TRUTH is that the medical facilities said the men are typically very polite and respectful when they do see them.

The TRUTH is that Management Training Corporation (MTC) took over the medical unit and would not give over-the-counter meds during Covid. Mind you that men can only receive packages at certain times during the year and cannot just order over the counter meds on a whim.

The TRUTH is that Management Training Corporation (MTC) is not paying the medical bills at neighboring hospitals in a timely manner or in most cases not at all.

The TRUTH is that men have died because Management Training Corporation (MTC) would not take them for care because they couldn’t unless it was an emergency.

The TRUTH is that Lamb Healthcare Center only offers emergency care because Management Training Corporation (MTC) won’t pay their bills.

The TRUTH is that Covenant Hospital was reluctant to sign a contract with Management Training Corporation (MTC) because of their reputation of not paying bills.

The TRUTH is that Management Training Corporation (MTC) is a FOR-PROFIT company that doesn’t make the health of the men a priority because it costs money to care for aging men.

The TRUTH is that Management Training Corporation (MTC) doesn’t want to pay the cost of the bills they receive and many times tries to pay what Medicaid would pay, which is not usually enough to cover the cost of care.

The TRUTH is that Management Training Corporation (MTC) should pay their outstanding bills so men can get routine treatment and preventative care at the neighboring hospitals.

The TRUTH is that the TCCC is the waiting room for DEATH because PROFIT is the bottom line.

Treatment is not the bottom line or even close to the line. Well, I guess it is if you need an ambulance.
